Pokémon TCG Market Statistics
TCG CollectWorld maintains one of the most comprehensive multi-language Pokémon TCG databases available, tracking cards, sets, and market values across English, Japanese, Italian, and Chinese releases. This page breaks down our dataset by region and explains where the pricing behind it comes from.
What the database covers
Our dataset spans releases from 1996 through current sets, with global coverage across the English, Japanese, Italian, and Chinese Pokémon TCG markets. Each entry tracks market value, PSA grading estimates, set release dates, and card rarity distribution.
Regional breakdown
The Japanese collection includes exclusive promos and tournament cards, priced through Cardmarket. The English collection is priced using both TCGPlayer and Cardmarket data. The Italian collection has complete market coverage through Cardmarket. The Chinese collection is priced via a Japanese proxy on Cardmarket, since dedicated Chinese market pricing is limited.
Where the pricing comes from
European raw card prices are sourced from Cardmarket, mapped print by print. US market prices come from TCGPlayer. Together these give a global view of card values rather than a single-market snapshot, which matters for anyone collecting across multiple regions.
Why this matters for collectors
Understanding how many sets and cards exist in each language, and which marketplace prices them, helps you judge whether a card's price on our site reflects the market you actually buy and sell in. It also helps explain gaps — for example, why some Chinese cards are priced via a proxy market rather than direct listings.
To put these numbers to use, browse the full English expansions list, the Japanese expansions list, check the most expensive cards, look up specific artists on the artists page, or search for a card directly on the card search page. You can also read how pricing works for the full methodology, or see our Pokédex for card data organized by Pokémon.
